This Privacy Policy explains how StudyAI collects, uses, and shares information when you use the StudyAI website and Chrome extension.

Information we collect

• Account information: information associated with your StudyAI account, such as your email address and account identifier.
• Authentication information: authentication tokens or session information used to keep you signed in. The extension may store authentication and preference information using Chrome storage.
• Website content you choose to submit: when you highlight text and use StudyAI, the selected text is transmitted to StudyAI so an AI-generated answer, explanation, adjustment, or follow-up response can be provided. StudyAI does not need to collect your general browsing history to provide this feature.
• Study requests and usage information: prompts, follow-up questions, feature usage, plan status, and usage counts needed to operate the service, enforce plan limits, maintain security, and improve reliability.
• Payment and subscription information: paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider. StudyAI may receive subscription status and transaction-related identifiers needed to manage your plan; StudyAI does not need to store your full payment card number.

How we use information

We use information to provide StudyAI's study-assistance features, authenticate users, generate requested AI responses, manage subscriptions and usage limits, maintain and secure the service, troubleshoot problems, and improve performance and reliability.

Chrome extension data use

The StudyAI Chrome extension accesses webpage text only as needed for its user-facing study feature. Text that you select and submit is sent securely to the StudyAI backend for processing. The extension uses Chrome storage for authentication/session information and extension preferences. StudyAI does not sell extension user data or use browsing activity for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

Service providers and sharing

StudyAI may share data with service providers only as needed to operate the service, such as cloud/database and authentication infrastructure, AI model providers that process submitted study requests, payment processing services for subscriptions, and hosting/infrastructure providers. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, for security or abuse prevention, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets where permitted by applicable requirements.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

StudyAI's use and transfer of information received from Google Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through the extension is used only to provide or improve StudyAI's disclosed user-facing features and related operational needs. StudyAI does not sell this data, use it for personalized advertising, or allow human access except when the user gives consent for support, when necessary for security, when required by law, or when data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

Data security

StudyAI uses HTTPS for network communications and takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Data retention and deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Users may request deletion of their StudyAI account and associated personal information by contacting us. Some information may be retained when legally required or necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legitimate recordkeeping.

Children

StudyAI is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review the request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as StudyAI changes. The date above will be updated when material revisions are made.
